Our client is looking for an Account Manager to add to their growing team - they are a distributor and offer fantastic career progression & opportunities to grow and develop.

As an Account manager you are expected to proactively create, develop, and maintain long-term, trusting relationships with our customers. The Account Manager’s role is to oversee an established list of spending customers, develop new business from them, and actively seek new sales opportunities through self-generated prospecting and converting inbound enquiries. Account Managers will manage up to 150 customers of smaller-medium/large customers with the aim of developing the customer portfolio to hold larger customers either through growing themselves, or working with the New Business Team to secure new large customers.

You will operate within geographical regions which are assigned by their line manager and their work is in pursuit of a revenue target which is agreed ahead of the start of each financial year. Account Managers will have a significant contribution in setting their own targets by outlining their own budget against their customer portfolio prior to sign-off by the Sales Manager.
The role is office based and as the business has grown as a result of its honest dealings with customers and family values, large emphasis is given to telephone communication over email. While the role is predominantly office based, there are regular opportunities to meet with customers at; customer meetings alongside a senior salesperson, customer meetings on-site, or industry trade shows.

Responsibilities
o    Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with customers and prospects.
o    Respond to sales enquiries and assist with customer service issues where appropriate.
o    Retain and identify opportunities to increase sales to established customers and win new business with prospective customers.
o    Maximising retention of existing business.
o    Develop excellent knowledge of our stock product range and an understanding of our wider capabilities.
o    Conduct regular account reviews of each customer account.
o    Attend and contributing to monthly Sales Meetings.
o    Scheduling (and occasionally attending) meetings on behalf of (and with) senior salespeople.
o    Representing the business at exhibitions and other industry events.
o    Maintain a good working understanding of our industry and marketplace.
o    Maintaining excellent records of their workings using our CRM software.
o    Measuring product samples.
o    Any other responsibilities commensurate with the nature of the role.

o    Highly driven/motivated.
o    Experience in working within a successful team.
o    Experience of working to targets.
o    Excellent interpersonal skills.
o    Exceptional communication skills, verbal and written.
o    Good presentation skills.
o    A good grasp of mathematics (GCSE level).
o    Excellent time management and organisational skills.
o    Ability to multitask.

Education
C or higher in GCSE English & Maths will be beneficial.
Diploma or higher-education certificates.
Experience in a sales-based role if the above are not held.
